When I was nine I saw my first dead mouse. We had a few get in the house and we set traps. Being a little boy I thought it was going to be neat, but then I saw the look of horror on its wretched little face. The sight is still quite vivid.

I'd like to do a series of animals like this, but it might be too depressing.

My grandmother used poison to deal with her mouse problems, but her back was so bad she couldn't bend down to pick up their little dead bodies which littered her basement. You know nothing of horror until you hear the crunch of a little mouse skull under your shoe.

it is a bit depressing. but i still love it. when i was 9 we had a skunk problem, not rats. my dad made a wooden trap that wouldn't harm them them and gathered them in this big plastic box. i used to open the lid to see how many he got. then for some reason i would try to come up with unique and crazy names for them. then i got sad cuz my dad took them away to a canyon. :P
now i freak out when i see a skunk close to me

Nice work Thomas. I do wonder where you'd go from here without getting too depressing. Goldfish on the carpet? Roadkill? I captured a lizard once and left the cage in the sun for too long. I recall looking at the crisp little guy and thinking he'd have been much better off if I'd have left him alone.

I had thought of a deer on the side of the road. "I wanted to cross the road."
