I got on a Shadow kick this weekend. I colored this image:[link] I've been playing around with a half coloring half painting style. I do all the flats and some modeling, then put a layer or two on top and lay down some colors.

UPDATE!!

:iconlonely-invisible: wrote a radio play inspired by this. Check it out here:[link]

No, the Spirit was NOT a remake of The Shadow. The Spirit is a character from the Golden Age of Comics created by the great Will Eisner. Eisner defined a lot of the methods and terms we use in sequential art. In fact the term 'sequential art" comes from Eisner.

The movie The Spirit from 08 was directed by Frank Miller, creator of the comic series Sin City. He was impressed with the visual translation of his work on the movie based on that, he used the same style to adapt Eisner's character.

Now with the history out of the way, that movie was really falls short of the comic's legacy and Eisner's genius. It was WAY too much of Miller's style. I know what he was going for, but I wished he would have just used his own characters or something original instead of wasting a great character like The Spirit.
